I'm feeling like....the tension in the air...like in one of those soccer matches where a bunch of people who don't speekee English tear down the steel
fence, run on the field and started whupping up on the team...the greatest election ever....

You think this election is more polarized than 2004? Maybe you Republicans are feeling more tense this time around, seeing as you haven't got much going,
and belatedly realize you didn't have much going in 2004.

What you had in 2004 was nothing compared to this. A marshmallow fight. pitiful.
I mean, John Kerry was pretending to be something he is not. Trying to be a centrist. Out with the hunters killing small animals and shit. Talking up his war hero smoke and mirrors instead of his anti-war cred...and so on. Kerry, like Bush is a corporate stooge...part of the great machine. Kerry and Bush were fighting for the middle. A version of the old Patty Duke show. "identical cousins...except Kerry likes the minuet and crepe suzettes" This year though...we got polar opposites. Nobody is fighting for the middle. McCain is Mr. War. Obama is Mr. anti-War. McCain is the old soldier...son of a soldier...father of a soldier. Obama is the young activist. and on and on and on about how different these two guys are. This election will be intense on the ground. Because it forces (or allows) the American public to make a real choice. WE HAVE TO MAKE A REAL CHOICE, DAVID! Isn't that cool? I think it's cool. |

almost as cool as when the colonel votes for a black activist.

We had a real choice in 2004, too. You just made the wrong one.

well, i don't think you have any business voting for a dem in the primary since you aren't one (are you?). but regardless, a man with your ideology
should not be voting for a man like obama, black or white. he likes government, you don't. he likes troop withdrawal, you don't. he'll tax your
ass, you hate that. he's a liberal. liberals bug you.
and for the other issue - culturally white, genetically black, vice versa, or whatever, i don't think it should matter. it does of course, but not for my vote. |

I agree with Kenny completely on this, and I'm from Clintonsaw, so I should know.

well I never really understood before this election campaign why the Clintons were so reviled.
now I see it. |

Well then, why did you vote for Bush? (Twice.) |

Gore and Kerry were not good candidates. As proof of that...both are still alive and well....yet in opinion polls...very few wanted them to run again in 2008. If they were good candidates...they would be today's candidate. Instead of Obama. |

OK, well, if you've got reasons why you voted for lying, dumb, and incompetent, then others must have their reasons too.

What strikes me about Hillary is that she's been trying to sell herself in whatever incarnation the focus group says she should be that week. She's the
weeper, the fighter, the underdog, the forerunner, the next POTUS. You remember that movie "Big Night" where Ian Holm (Bilbo Baggins more recently)
screws over Stanley Tucci's restaurant and sends him to the poor house? Tucci's character asks him loathingly, "What's are you?!?", and
he replies, "I'm a business man, I'm anything I need to be at any time". The center of her personality is a one of a shapeshifter.
One really gets the sense that Obama has been pretty much the same guy all along, either that's true or he's waaaaay better at it than she is....but I don't think the latter is the case. It feels that this guy is really solid under pressure and can handle the job. You beat a Clinton to get into the White House...that's qualified enough for me I say. That bit about her coming off the plane in Kosavo or wherever she was under a hail of fire was pretty much the clincher for me. This woman is a real snake in the grass. Listening to her speak grates on me almost as much as GWB; at least he's pretty good with the one-liners sometimes....I especially love that one about "Misson Accomplished". Hehe, that was a real kneeslapper....
