If McCain had been elected, she was only a heartbeat away from being our President - and she can't even finish one term as a governor!

Coming to a ridiculous 2012 Republican presidential ticket near you... I guess they are conceding the 2nd Obama term now so they can broom Palin under the rug
once and for all with a failed presidential campaign...

I doubt balin Palin will get past the primaries....but she's had a taste of the big time, and Alaska just isn't big enough for her.

When the game isn't working for you.....change the game.
Sarah is kinda like a female Ron Paul...she has a small but dedicated support group...has herself positioned politically...has name recognition... She can pull back...work it freelance... May work for her...may not...but it's her best shot... |

If she was serious about 2012 I dont think she'd quit in the middle of a term...
there's something going on...my bet is Bristol is pregnant again. |

I cannot take any Republican serious if they believe that Palin would be a suitable president. That woman is batshit crazy.

She's history unless the press decides to keep wanking off. When Sara Palin is on her game and confident, she's deadly composed, articulate and
charismatic -- regardless of whether or not you agree with her.
However, when she's overcome with stress, she babbles on incoherantly like an idiot and doesn't breathe between sentences causing some kind of short circuits in her brain. And, apparently, right now the woman is really stressed. |

Future plans wise....she should get one of them TV shows. Be the right wing Rachel Maddow....

She has been painfully inept in TV appearances aside from her "for rednecks only" demagogic stump speeches. OTOH, Fox has made its bones with the
stupid vote, so she'll probably end up as a talking head there. And you'd have to be really stupid to want to elect a quitter like her to
public office -- she has basically said "eff you" to the people in Alaska who voted for her. Good riddance (I hope).

Well, Goldman Sachs has got it's money on Obama. Makes it tough for everyone else. Including Sarah Palin. Actually, especially Sarah Palin because she
appears to be the only one that the Goldman Sachs crowd really fears. She did pull crazy old McCain up with the Republican base...who dislikes McCain greatly.
Kept the election from being a complete blowout.
In a year...new information will be public on Obama...Palin will still have the base. The fact that Sarah is reviled by the left is her greatest strength. Somewhere in the future there will be a demand for someone who is the anti-Obama. |

Did anyone else have a problem with here 'excuses' for quitting? I love the whole concept that 'I don't want to be a lame duck'. And why
would you have to be if you decide to resign. Is there some inherent absolute that if you reject re-election, you must screw the taxpayers? Is it not possible
to work the rest of your term and do it very well? What a stupid approach, I quit because I don't want to be bad like all the other politicians and if I
continue to work, I'll be bad like all the other politicians. Quite astounding really.

"The fact that Sarah is reviled by the left is her greatest strength." well... the left hates Palin because she always manages to come across as a stupid person... so it looks like her greatest strength must be her stupidity. |

I thought her executive experience was her greatest strength? That's what Kenny Lee used to tell us. Up until she quit before finishing a single term. Anyway, you've got it backwards. The fact that Sarah Palin doesn't like the left is her greatest strength with the righty cultural warriors who are her fans. She's crazy if she thinks this helps her in 2012. I think she's going to ghostwrite a book or two, collect some hefty speaking fees, and enjoy the spotlight without having to be responsible for knowing or doing anything. |

That Guy David wrote: Like she's the first politician to do that. Every politician does that, David. Sarah doesn't like the left...the hard right doesn't like the left. The left doesn't like them. As far as which dislike came first...it's a non issue. Anyhow....somebody has got to be the anti-Obama. Maybe someone else will surface to wave that flag. But if they don't...then Sarah Palin seems to have it locked up. As you say...there's money in it. |

Ummmm, no. Some politicians actually serve out their terms, and do the job they were elected to do. Most, probably. Some even try to keep informed on matters of public policy, but that's the kind of thing that seems to stress Sarah Palin out. > As far as which dislike came first...it's a non issue. Of course not, but as far as where does her actual "strength" come from, it's her ranting about The Left, not the other way around. There's not going to be any shortage of anti-Obama people. The question is whether any of them will have anything positive to offer, or whether it will all be tired old culture war ranting. Palin might be able to win an R primary on that, but it won't win the general. Here are some more insights on this crucial issue (love this blog, much better than the actual shows): Stephanolpous: what is the deal with Sarah Palin? |
