I'll never forget driving through it when I was younger....I was waiting for the hillbillies from Bugs Bunny to come out of the woodwork, or worse,
Deliverance....

On TV, Tucker Carlson is saying this is a problem for Obama. As in, Obama must find a way to make racist white people like him to win in the fall.

Or have a daughter who could get pregnant at 13 and then marry her cousin who's an alcoholic and a wife beater and dropped out of school in the 7th grade.
That'd make him pretty damned white in Virginia and West Virginia.

I was watching a documentary (I think on Sundance channel) called "Burning the Future". It was about the people of West Virginia and how they are
basically getting poisoned out of existence by the coal companies. There was a lot of personal story kinda stuff, told by the folks themselves. Frankly, I do
not see these folks as being Obama people. The gap between their world and urban America, or even educated America, is just too much. They are not necessarily
racist, but they really have no basis on which to judge Obama, and Hillary has a good line for the down and out. These folks would have to look up to have the
lifestyle of a Chicago project -- at least the projects got city water with no mine waste in it.
