Now THAT is a big switch and a very complimentary one seeing our last top 10 export, Travis Meeks sounded a lot like Layne Staley. I love this song esp. the switch at 2:34. I love songs that twist into a new melody/tune unexpectedly, very progressive. Even though these guys sound just like early My Morning Jacket, the song has excellent melodies, esp. the guitar and wonderful singing (Jim Jamesesque) and harmonies. I'd give the production, which is excellent an A+ and its really nice to hear a very clean version of early MMJ seeing I haven't enjoyed their latest efforts as much as I did their earlier records. Great compliment from a great band to a great band! DOWNLOAD ASAP IF YOU LIKE: early MMJ, Neil Young's folky period(s) and the Beach Boys. Either that or I read a review in Rolling Stone. Either way, I was intrigued enough to grab the album. Here's a tip: Check out The Fireman. There's a guy in the band who you might have heard before.
